series IV, location #5000 Solitude mirrors the desolation found in abandoned buildings. The loneliness of waking up and going to sleep alone is similar to the emptiness of vacant buildings. A sense of emptiness is evoked by both experiences. Remnants of former liveliness can be heard. A perpetual craving for company and someone with whom to share hopes and memories is experienced. The deteriorating appearance of an abandoned building shows how it was a silent witness to past eras, bearing witness to lives and tales that have been forgotten. There's a melancholic beauty within the loneliness that serves as a poignant reminder of the tremendous effects of absence on the human condition.
